Cookie Policy
Updated 7 September 2026 · ELPE Circle early release
Cookies are small values a website stores in your browser. This page describes ELPE Circle’s current use, not Elpe-Quant’s earlier analytics or consent system.
Necessary sign-in cookie
__Host-circle_session is set by elpe.ai after successful sign-in. It contains an opaque session identifier, not your password. It is Secure, HttpOnly and SameSite=Strict, applies to the site’s root path, and expires after seven days unless you sign out or your session is revoked earlier. Local development uses the name circle_session.
Blocking this cookie prevents staying signed in. Signing out clears it; a successful password reset invalidates the account’s sessions on the server. There is no “remember me” switch that silently changes this period.
Local preferences
A separate short-lived __Host-circle_auth_challenge cookie supports email verification and administrator two-step sign-in. It is HttpOnly, Secure and SameSite=Strict and lasts at most ten minutes. This restricted challenge does not grant member or administrator access. Local development uses circle_auth_challenge.
The design preview may store local display preferences. These do not approve membership, create an account or store your password. You can remove site data through your browser settings.
Optional Google Analytics
Google Analytics loads only after you select Allow analytics. Rejecting analytics leaves it off. Cookie settings lets you change your choice; withdrawing permission stops tracking and removes Google Analytics cookies. Your choice is stored locally as elpe.analytics.v1. If allowed, first-party _ga cookies distinguish visits for up to 90 days. We measure general page categories and navigation, and the application-received page records a lead event. Query strings, member identifiers, discussion titles, searches and form contents are excluded. Administrator, verification and password-reset pages are excluded. Advertising features and automatic enhanced measurement are disabled. Google receives browser/device and connection information to provide analytics. See Google’s privacy policy.
